Collection: Jurassic Fish Fossils – Whitby Yorkshire Coast Fossil Fish

Jurassic Fish Fossils from the Yorkshire Coast

This collection features genuine fish fossils discovered along the Yorkshire Coast near Whitby, one of the most famous Jurassic fossil locations in the United Kingdom.

During the Jurassic period around 180 million years ago, many species of fish lived in the ancient seas that covered this region. Occasionally their remains are preserved in the fossil-rich rocks along the coastline.

Rare finds include scaly armoured fish such as Lepidotes, as well as remains from the much larger sturgeon-like fish Gyrosteus, which could grow to impressive sizes in the Jurassic seas.

Browse our selection of Jurassic fish fossils from Whitby and the Yorkshire Coast, perfect for collectors interested in prehistoric marine life.
