Rare Fossil Fish Lepidotes – Whitby Yorkshire Coast – Jurassic

A very rare fossil fish found near Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast. 

Fish material such as this is very rare to come by. I believe the species is Lepidotes. The pebble itself is absolutely packed full of scales.

This fossil has been prepared carefully as much as possible to reveal the delicate bones.

The Fossil shown in the pictures is the exact one you will receive. This comes from an old collection found in the 80s.

180 million years old.
