Collection: Whitby Unopened Ammonite Nodules

Offered here are boxes of unopened Whitby ammonite nodules collected from the beaches near Whitby on the famous Yorkshire Coast. Each box contains approximately 1.8kg of natural fossil nodules, many showing signs of ammonites visible along the edges.

These nodules formed around 180 million years ago during the Jurassic period and offer an exciting opportunity to reveal your own ammonite fossils. Some nodules may contain complete ammonites, while others may show partial fossils.

The nodules can be prepared using air tools or carefully opened using a hammer and chisel. Always wear eye protection and appropriate safety gear when opening fossils.

Please note these fossils are 100% natural, and because of this the final result cannot be guaranteed. Some ammonites may be incomplete and may contain varying levels of pyrite.
