Jurassic Nautilus Fossil – Whitby Yorkshire Coast Cephalopod

This genuine nautilus fossil was discovered on the famous Yorkshire Coast near Whitby, one of the most important Jurassic fossil locations in the United Kingdom.

Nautilus are ancient marine cephalopods closely related to ammonites and modern nautilus species. This fossil formed around 180 million years ago during the Jurassic period, when much of the Yorkshire region was covered by warm prehistoric seas.
