Lower Lias Bivalve Fossil Shell from the Jurassic Coast

A genuine bivalve shell fossil from the Lower Lias, dating back approximately 200 million years to the Early Jurassic.

Bivalves were common inhabitants of the ancient seas that covered the region during this period. This fossil preserves a small part of that marine history in the rocks of the Lower Lias.

A nice addition to a collection of British Jurassic fossils.
