Ichthyosaur Tail Vertebrae Fossil Group – Jurassic Whitby, Yorkshire Coast
Couldn't load pickup availability
A genuine group of ichthyosaur tail vertebrae from Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast, dating back around 180 million years to the Lower Jurassic period.
This specimen consists of approximately 11 articulated tail vertebrae, originally found in a rock pool area and later carefully prepared to reveal the full sequence. The natural curve of the tail bend is preserved, giving a rare and dynamic glimpse into the structure of this Jurassic marine reptile.
Ichthyosaurs were fast-swimming predators of the Jurassic seas, and finds like this — showing multiple vertebrae together — are far less common than single bones.
A 100% authentic Yorkshire Coast ichthyosaur fossil, perfect for collectors or display, offering a striking and unusual piece of Jurassic marine life.
